Grouce and Breagha are now proud parents!

Before anyone gets too excited can I just remind you all that I wait until they are 3 weeks of age before accepting deposits. The fun is just beginning along with lots of playing and puppy watching to make my daughter and I as well as customers who all want a puppy fix ( when they are old enough) very happy people!

Claramand Black Grouce at Thurness (18mths)

Grouce qualified for Crufts at the Scottish Kennel Club show getting a very creditable 2nd in his class against strong competition.

Amy has now qualified at the Scottish Cocker Championship show for her stud book number, this means she is now qualified for Crufts for life. Grouce got a very creditable 4th in his strong class and Moshi came away with a first in one of her classes and a very useful bag of food. All in all a nice day out for us all.

Grouce had a great time at Angus & Kincardine show last week getting a first in his class and then Best of Breed and then Group 2 in the Gundog group. Moshi got a very creditable 2nd in her very stong Any Variety gundog puppy class. Amy got a 3rd in her class she may have done a bit better if her tail would stop wagging as a result her whole bum was doing some wonderful movements that are not required when on the move! All in all a lovely day out!

For recent Puppy information please go to the Thurness Cocker Spaniels page and then the puppy page.

I am now offering Dog Grooming Tuition for new and existing owners, please see the Posh Puppies Grooming salon page and then go to tuition.

The matrons!

Thurness Cocker Spaniels has been established for over 25 years and is a small select Kennel of solid quality English Cocker Spaniels. These wonderful dogs make super family pets as well as looking beautiful. They are equally happy curled up either beside you or by the fireside or up on the hills on a 15 mile hike! These days I am kept busy either grooming other peoples beloved pets, getting my own ready for the occasional show or playing with a new litter of puppies, amongst other day to day things.

Thurness Amber Dreams at 8 months of age

Claramand Phantom x Whinburn Sweet Dream baby at Thurness

Amy has a growing fan club and with her ever wagging tail and wonderful nature. At present she is taking a wee rest while she tries to grow some coat after having had a wonderful quality litter of 7 puppies to Grouce! Amy latest bid for stardom is to be published as a representative of the breed in a new book about breeds of dogs! well done Amy!!

Thurness Beautiful Dreams ( Breagha) Sh.Ch. Helenwood technique x Whinburn Sweet Dream Baby at Thurness - Beautiful by name and by nature.

Breagha is a lovely girl, who is full of love, she is not that keen on showing herself off but the few times she has been out and about she has done very well with several firsts and Best of Breeds. She is a real people's dog who loves nothing better than to be glued to your side ready for more petting. She is a wonderful mum who really knows how to look after her puppies and has loads of patience.

Occasionally I may have an older girl available for a loving retirement home. These ex show dogs make wonderful pets and are ideal for someone who is looking for a dog that has got past the puppy stage and is a bit more sensible.
