Animal Portraits

I have always painted even when a young child and ended up studying at Coventry (Lanchester) university and then at Camarthen College of Art where I was lucky to enrol on the only course in the country available at the time in Wildlife illustration.

As you may have gathered from the other links in this site I have always had a strong affinity with animals and nature and this is reflected in the choice of artwork I produce.

These days I work mainly on commissions but when I get chance I do others as well. I work mainly from photographs but with animals it does help if I have met the animal, as it gives me an insight into its character as well. I prefer to do animal portraits and work in various mediums, watercolour, pencils, pen and ink or a combination of them all.
